Activity 1: CPU cache explained – What is cache memory?

  • Watch the video on cache memory: Go to the provided YouTube link. Link:
    watch
  • Take notes while watching: Pay close attention to the two types of cache memory – DRAM and SRAM. Distinguish the characteristics between these two types of cache memory. Also observed the location of the RAM as compared to the cache memory on the motherboard.
  • Based on the activity above, write a summary report on the types, functions, and the importance of cache memory in improving the system performance. Explain the different levels of cache and their impact on data access speed. 
  • Upon completion, write a summary report on your findings. Post your report in the link that will be created by your course facilitator. You are given 3 days to complete the tasks.
