Transition & Evolution:

For the sake of the answer, I decided to merge the two topics into one to try and explain it in a more compact manner.

With passing time, firms are evolving and so are people and circumstances. Be it at home or at work.

Globalization is one of the key factors for which things are changing. The HRM had to adapt to serve different kinds of people under the same firm and employees also had to adapt to cope to new situations better.

The Evolution of AI and change in the generation in the work force is also another crucial factors. People are preferring remote job opportunities and flexible working mode in terms of flexibility. This has grown significantly since the COVID-19 struck the world. Also, these days, a lot of things became a lot easier with the evolution of AI. As Karim Lakhani (Dorothy & Michael Hintze Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School) has stated, “AI is not going to replace humans, but humans with AI are going to replace humans without AI.” Therefore, HRM of any firm need to be on their toes and stay updated regarding these changing trends.

Wellbeing of employees is also equally important. Which is why, firms these days are conducting mental health awareness workshops, providing their employees with leaves such as, wellness leave (included in their annual leave quota). Some firms are also giving female employees paid day-offs during their menstruation cycle. Employees these days are prirotizing work-life balance when looking for new jobs because its important to them. Being a part of the HRM doesn't only include motivation and incentives anymore.
