The evolution of HR has progressed from basic labor management in the pre-industrial era to a more strategic, people-focused function today. Initially, HR was centered on hiring, payroll, and welfare during the Industrial Revolution. In the mid-20th century, it expanded to include employee relations and development. By the late 20th century, HR became more strategic, aligning human resources with business goals, and incorporating technology. In the 21st century, HR has focused on leadership, diversity, employee engagement, and leveraging digital tools, becoming a key driver of organizational success and transformation.
