In my opinion, managing people means to make sure provide them everything they need to get their jobs done. It includes paying attention to and caring for the people working in an organisation. The basic people management includes formal, procedural duties such as hiring, training, evaluating and disciplining employees. It entitles leading, developing, motivating and managing people thus productivity increased, employee satisfaction improved, reduce turnover and performance enhanced.
For example, Spotify’s people strategy focuses on people-first, purpose driven and adding business value. Katarina Berg, Chief Human Resources Officer and Global Workplace Services correctly mentioned regarding Spotify that "If you are a true people-first organisation and if you aspire to engage your people by involving them in the journey, this approach is the way to design your people strategy" . At Spotify they believe in a people-first approach, but equally important is to be purpose-driven. This is the most important skill of today’s HR – getting the perfect balance between prioritisation of the business and prioritisation of the people that confirms (i) Talent Attraction, (ii) Diversity, inclusion and belonging, (iii) Learning and Development & (iv) Growth.
