How HRM evolves into a global context

Human Resources Management (HRM) refers to those activities undertaken by an organization to effectively utilize its human resources. International HRM (IHRM) as the interplay among the three dimensions of human resource activities, type of employees and countries of operation. IHRM presents in three dimensions, which is the broad human resource activities of procurement, allocation, and utilization. Second, the national or country categories involved in international HRM activities, which is the host-country where a subsidiary may be located, the parent-country where the firm is headquartered and ‘other’ countries that may be the source of labour, finance, and other inputs. Then, the three categories of employees of an international firm, such as host-country nationals (HCNs), parent-country nationals (PCNs) and third-country nationals (TCNs).
