It is my opinion that at this age and time, SHRM is the way forward. As mentioned previously, gone are the days when HR is all about personnel management and boring administrative duties. Strategic Human Resource Management is key to survival for any business organisation in the 21st century. Being a strategic business partner and in line with the company's missions and goals have added competitive advantage as well as maximising the company's workforce/productivity. SRHM would also be capable of handling 21st century challenges ie. political, economical, technological etc. So I don't think that SHRM is about self-interest, it's more about the company's interest in taking the business to a different level, greater heights.
