The polycentric approach to international management refers to the practise of recruiting workers who are natives of the host country and giving them opportunities for advancement within the organisation. Since all of the personnel in the polycentric strategy are from the same area, it results in lower expenses for recruitment and training as well as less difficulties with adjusting to the new environment and communicating. The argument behind this strategy is that natives of the host nation are more familiar with their culture and can operate the firm more effectively than their foreign competitors. By utilising an adaptive or a polycentric approach, a higher level of production as a result of increased familiarity with the local market.
