For multinational companies, an adaptive approach to global HR means adapting HR policies and practices to the cultural, legal, and business specifics of different countries, while maintaining a degree of uniformity across the organization. Moreover, focusing on employee satisfaction, rather than the annual ritual of surveys, has been shown to be more important in tracking employee progress and allowing regular communication between managers and employees.

The polycentric approach can be an effective strategy for multinationals, but they needto be aware of the drawbacks and take steps to ensure that the approach remains effective and sustainable.
