Managing people is more than just recruiting, training, and evaluating employees. It is also ensuring their wellbeing, support them, and inspire them to work in order to produce an efficient workplace and ensure the quality of the work.
The heart of any company or organization is its employees. Humans have basic needs such as physiological needs, safety, love, esteem, and self-actualization. those needs need to be fulfilled in order for them to live, build themselves, perform and contribute to the society. The same applies to the workplace. If the employees are not feeling safe in their workplace or their basic needs are not satisfied, they won't be able to perform. When the employee feels threatened by his manager or colleague, feels under-appreciated and that his work is not of value, then he will not have the motivation to work and contribute to the organization.
Thus, by managing people and employees efficiently, the manager/team leader will be able to get the most out of the employees individually and also as teammates. Without proper people and team managing, the workflow will be a chaos and the outcome would not be satisfactory. Managers should focus on creating dynamic teams that communicate and understand each others boundaries, collaborate and work together.
