Technology Moves Work Beyond the Office
Ever since Covid-19 hit the world, it was becoming clear that Work From Home culture is not just a phase. Those that graduated university around the time when the pandemic hit had experienced working for the first time from home. It was becoming prevailent that younger generations are expecting a WFH culture or remote work culture to take root into businesses. Companies are starting to implement hybrid work hours. A Society for Human Resource Management study showed that three times as many companies offered telework last year than did in 1996.
Modernisation of Tech meant that the lines of Globalisation becomes blurred. Companies can also start employing foreign talent from overseas and work remotely. This meant that International Strategic HR Management becomes more prevailant.
Diversity, equity, and inclusion
In 2020, the amount of search queries on workforce diversity insights has increased by 74% in comparison with a year before. Companies with a highly diverse workforce reported up to 19% higher revenues than companies with low diversity. Companies are adopting online assessment for diversity sourcing, blind hiring processes, and AI-powered candidate screening that’ll help HR executives build diversified teams without biasness and prejudice.
