- Select ONE Culture Event or Institution you have recently visited.
- Prepare online presentation slide to share based on the following areas:
- Historical Evolution: Present a timeline showing key milestones in the development of cultural policy globally. Include examples from different eras and regions (e.g., ancient cultural patronage, Renaissance state-supported arts, 20th-century cultural policies).
- Key Concepts and Frameworks:
- Define cultural policy and its scope.
- Discuss the roles of different stakeholders: government, private sector, non-profits, and communities.
- Introduce core concepts such as cultural democracy, cultural diversity, and cultural rights.
- Models of Cultural Policy:
- Provide an overview of different cultural policy models, including centralized vs. decentralized approaches, market-driven vs. state-supported models.
- Highlight case studies from various regions (e.g., the United States, France, South Korea, and UNESCO's global framework).
- Post and Discuss:
- Post your slides with audio notes in the Discussion Forum below within the set due date for this activity.
- Review the slides shared by other class members of this group and provide constructive feedback/discussion covering:
