- Chart paper and markers (as part of the thinking process)
Instructions:
- Discuss on "China's regulation of film
and music industries" and "France's cultural exception
policy and its support for local cinema."
- Suggest to do simple online slides sharing preliminary research to cover these areas:
- How did the state intervene in cultural production in this case?
- What were the motivations behind the state's intervention?
- What was the impact on the creative process?
- How did it affect the quality and diversity of cultural outputs?
- Post and Discuss broadly similarities and
differences between the two countries state intervention. Focus on the observed impacts on creativity, quality, and diversity.
- The balance between support and control in state intervention.
- Examples of cultural products that were significantly influenced by state policies.
- Long-term effects on the cultural landscape of the country/region.
