module has 2 Learning Outcomes. By the time you complete this course, you will
be able to:
1. Explain the concepts and knowledge that shape
the management of people in work organisations (C5, PLO2)
2. Formulate solutions to problems in managing people (A4, PLO9)
This module focuses on human resource responsibilities such as recruiting and selection, employee training and development, managing individual employee performance, remuneration and awards. It also covers the procedures for increasing productivity in the workplace, as well as the ability of employers to terminate employees' employment.
There are 4 topics which will be covered under this module;
- Introduction to People Management
- HRM in Global Context
- Strategic People Management
- Contemporary Issues in People Management
