Welcome to Topic 2

Before starting your research, you need to know the research philosophy you have selected for your study. The way in which research is conducted is conceived of in terms of the research philosophy subscribed to, the research design employed and so the research instruments utilized to complete your research. I will explain different Research Philosophies. There are 2 main learning outcomes you will need to achieve through this lesson, as shown below. You will also spend approximately 3 hours on this lesson.

Completing this topic will enable you to:

1.       Describe ontology, epistemology, and axiology, and explain their relevance 

2.       Describe the Research Philosophies (Positivism, Interpretivism, Realism, and Pragmatism)
