Module Introduction

This module has 3 Learning Outcomes. By the time you complete this course, you will be able to:

1. Describe the terms and processes related to public speaking and speech writing. (C1, PLO1)

2. Write speech effectively. (C2, PLO2)

3. Express opinion in a persuasive and confident manner. (A2, PLO4)

Public Speaking consists of TWELVE chapters:

4. Audience Analysis

5. Language in Public Speaking

6. Language in Public Speaking

7. Selecting Topics

8. General & Specific Purposes

9. Understanding Audience

10. Ethics in Public Speaking

11. Delivery

12. Listening

Assessments are divided into THREE segments:

1. Symposium Outline – 20% (GROUP WORK)

2. Group Symposium – 30% (GROUP WORK)

3. Exam – 50% (INDIVIDUAL ATTEMPT)
