In this topic, I will explain Probability sampling that involves random selection, allowing you to make strong statistical inferences about the whole group.

I will also explain non-probability sampling that involves non-random selection based on convenience or other criteria, allowing you to easily collect data. Both are important for gaining different kinds of knowledge.

Completing this learning outcome will enable you to distinguish between the various sampling techniques.

The following resources explain:

  • Go through the Video and PPT slides to get a better understanding of the types of sampling techniques and methods.
  • See supplementary Materials for PPT slides.

  • Video that explains the probability and non-probability sampling techniques
