Introduction & Topic Learning Outcomes
Welcome
to Topic 7! In this topic, we will explore on Prototyping. Prototyping is an
integral part of Design Thinking and User Experience design in
general because it allows us to test our ideas quickly and improve on
them in an equally timely fashion. The Institute of Design at Stanford
(d.school) encourages a “bias towards action”, where building and testing is
valued over thinking and meeting.
There are 4 main learning outcomes to be achieved through this lesson, as shown below.
Completing this topic will enable you to:
1. Develop proficiency in using prototyping tools and software relevant to the field.
2. Apply creative thinking to generate unique and effective prototype designs.
3. Demonstrate the ability to articulate the purpose and functionality of the prototype.
4. Demonstrate the practical application of SRP in developing the prototype.
Here are the key terms that you should be able to use throughout this lesson:
• Interactive
• Feedback
• Rapid
• Tangible
• Use Centered
• Mock-up
You will spend approximately 3 hours on this lesson.
