This module Professional Practice will equip the participants with essential skills and knowledge for career advancement in program creation, training, and development. Participants will undertake professional practice, by applying their program-acquired knowledge and skills to a particular teaching and learning/professional training setting of their choice. Participants will design and develop a teaching and learning or training session, deliver it and reflect on the achievement of the session outcomes. The participant will be observed on several occasions and feedback plus discussion will be carried out. The participant will continuously improve on the feedback given to ensure key competencies are achieved. 

Course Learning Outcomes

This module has 4 Learning Outcomes. By the time you complete this module, you will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate the ability to analyse and design learning or training sequences at the workplace by integrating knowledge from the learning design field to a series of assignments as agreed with the mentor. (C3, PLO2)
  2. Demonstrate the ability to deliver the designed sequences following pedagogical/andragogical sciences for effective delivery. (P5, PLO3)
  3. Propose futuristic learning solutions, to enhance institutional development towards evolving educational trends. (A5, PLO10)
  4. Practice a responsible and professional work ethics as practiced by the organization where the participant is based. (A5, PLO11)

Assessment

The module includes two assessment methods:

  1. Report (20%)
  2. Presentation (20%)
  3. Report (20%)
  4. Reflective Journal (40%)

Both assessments will be conducted online via Moodle.
