- MANAGERIAL FINANCE: MODULE INTRODUCTION
This module aims to give you a thorough understanding of the major financial decisions, taken by firms in this increasingly technology-driven and digitized marketplace. You should understand the theory underlying capital budgeting, risk assessment, and financing choices, and appreciate the empirical evidence on the relevance of the theoretical approaches discussed.
The module is divided into eight topics. The learning resources include video lectures, reading materials and activities. Forums have been created to stimulate discussion, questions and comments. There will be three graded summative assessments to test your understanding of the module contents.
The learning outcomes of this module are:
1- Describe the various theories and principles of capital structure and different methods of business valuation. (Assessed through the Class Test)
2- Extend knowledge of managerial finance into more specialised areas for decision-making in solving complex financial problems. (Assessed through assignment report)
3- Practice professionally based on the understanding of the managerial finance principles in relation to corporations. (Assesses through assignment project).
