Literature Review Matrix (15%)

Construct a literature review matrix to organize and analyze research related to your studies.

Materials:

• Computer with internet access
• Access to APU library resources and databases
• Spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets)

Instructions:

1. Topic Selection: Briefly discuss your current research topic with your classmates.

2. Source Gathering: Using APU library resources, search for at least 30 academic articles directly relevant to your research area.

3. Matrix Creation: Open your chosen spreadsheet software and create a table with the following headings:

   • Author(s)
   • Publication Year
   • Title
   • Journal/Publisher
   • Research Question/Objective
   • Methodology
   • Key Findings
   • Relevance to Your Study

4. Populate the Matrix: For each of your chosen sources, fill out the corresponding information in your matrix. Focus on capturing the core elements of the research.

5. Reflection: 

   • What are the key themes or trends emerging from your initial sources?
   • Are there any significant gaps in knowledge identified so far?
   • How will this information help refine your research question or design?
