I think academics and HR professionals embraced SHRM because it can help to work with business functions. HR department is an integral part of business strategy but it supports other business functions like administration, facilities. This boosts collaboration. SHRM also focuses on the Human as the main resource or asset of an organization. It talks about the importance of training the individuals to place real competition in market. I think there is a strong business case for same as SHRM helps in taking wise decisions.
