I think academics and HR professionals support SHRM because it really helps align HR with the company’s goals, which leads to better results. It makes HR more than just an administrative role, but it becomes a key part of the business. Some might say HR people like SHRM because it boosts their importance, but from my perspective, the main reason it’s embraced is because it actually works. In the end, SHRM helps both HR and the company succeed together.
