On economy reason, Organisation trend to actively involve HR in business planning decision has resulted in global skill and talent shortage. Individual needs to be deployed wherever there is a need. Meanwhile there are also issue such as emerging geographic market, globalisation, and increased competition.

On social reasons,  organisation also realize they cannot 'parachute in' talent easily.  They need to build local leaders who understand local culture but who still embody enterprise value. Lastly, very few organisation consider themself as being world class in global mobility deployment.

Recent evolution of HR function/roles:

- moving to more agile organisation with flat, transparent, integrated talent strategy

- transparent global talent mobility with continuous deployment

- implement global leadership and encourage global mindset

- integrate talent practices, policies and approach globally

- encourage specialisation of job and career

- integrated talent acquisition and management

- invest in hr technology

- utilise analytics to understand global talent issue

- give HR training and skills to maximise opportunity
