From my point of view, the approach they are using now is quite fine. As thinking from the employee view, Alpha is trying to let the locals experiences their culture while they also learn about theirs which can lead to quality assurance for both sides.
After reading the case it seems that Alpha is using polycentric approach while also maintaining a little bit of ethnocentric thinking because it is said that Alpha poised to reach the next level in becoming a truly global company with firm local roots and they prefer local manager as well as they are more Indian-centric.
