Following are the various ‘Adaptive Approaches’ to Global Human Recourse Management:

  • Ethnocentric Approach
  • Polycentric Approach
  • Geocentric Approach
  • Regiocentric Approach

According to the case study provided, Alpha takes the Polycentric Approach as a part of their motto of Decentralisation, Shared Leadership & Anti-Hierarchical Structure. This approach leads to locals of the host country to be hired to manage the subsidiaries in their home country while leaving the HQ to be managed by the locals of the parent country. This helps the company to avoid many cultural, legal and environmental problems that come with locating a foreign employee in the host country. However, my recommendation would be a Geocentric Approach since it eliminates the barrier of nationalities and purely looks for the right talent for the company while making it diverse and interesting as a workplace.

i would argue that Alpha is Regino-centric in their approach. in the case stidy there was mentions that the managers feels decisions are mostly made by the India head office. Their processes are likely not mature enough to be fully poly-centric
