What is people management and why is it so important?

People management is important for an organization as it allows the company to function in order to continue operating. This would involve being able to effectively train, motivate and direct employees as everyone in the company serves a common goal. Good people management will boost employee productivity and overall growth which would be beneficial for the company. 

e.g. Someone with poor management skills when given the authority may result in bad time management, lack of team awareness, and miscommunication.

Key components:

1. Communication: as being both in the listening and talking position matters. Act from a neutral standpoint and be a safe space to mediate internal conflicts or issues.

2. Flexibility: People have their own preferences in order to function well and being able to be flexible would boost employees' well-being as results are still being achieved.

3. Trust: Being able to trust the team you managed and also be patient when new recruits are still adjusting to the company.

4. Organization: Effectively divide tasks and set an achievable and reasonable deadline for the team to strive towards.
