The practise of systematically designing, developing, and delivering instructional materials and experiences, both digital and physical, in a consistent and reliable manner towards an effective, appealing, engaging, and inspiring knowledge acquisition is known as instructional design (ID), also known as instructional systems design (ISD). The process entails identifying the learner's needs and current state, specifying the intended outcome of instruction, and developing a "intervention" to help with the transition. The result of this instruction may be clearly perceptible and measurable scientifically, or it may be entirely concealed and assumed.
