The goal of instructional design is to improve efficiency and streamline content in order to improve learning. What we can learn from the AT&T case study from the 1960s is that the work of craftsmen was initially disrupted by a 45-day training course. The course was reduced to nine days through task analysis and instructional design, saving $37 million over five years and 80% of the training time. This example draws attention to the significance of solving educational challenges and highlighting what students "need to know," setting it apart from content-centered approaches. Efficient instructional design enhances the course quality and tremendously reduces costs.

Agree on that. Instructional design helps learners to grasp the ideas in innovative ways.
