In my opinion, people management can be generally defined as the act of managing people. In the context of a workplace environment, it is the skills used by business leaders in organizing and managing their employees with regards to making sure they are well provided for and have everything needed to get their jobs done. The key components of organizations having good people management includes providing training, motivating and directing employees to optimize workplace productivity as well as helping them to promote professional growth. This in-turn would boost employee performance and morale which would then benefit the business performance and the organisation as a whole. In a nutshell, effective people management is important to a well-functioning business as it potentially helps boost retention, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
