Assessment 1 - Literature Review Matrix (15%)

Construct a literature review matrix to organize and analyze research related to your studies.

Materials:

Computer with internet access
Access to APU library resources and databases
Spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets)

Instructions:

Topic Selection: Briefly discuss your current research topic with your classmates.
Source Gathering: Using APU library resources, search for at least 30 academic articles directly relevant to your research area.
Matrix Creation: Open your chosen spreadsheet software and create a table with the following headings:
- Author(s)
- Publication Year
- Title
- Journal/Publisher
- Research Question/Objective
- Methodology
- Key Findings
- Relevance to Your Study
Populate the Matrix: For each of your chosen sources, fill out the corresponding information in your matrix. Focus on capturing the core elements of the research.
Reflection:
- What are the key themes or trends emerging from your initial sources?
- Are there any significant gaps in knowledge identified so far?
- How will this information help refine your research question or design?
