Module Overview

This module equips students with the essential skills to navigate the intersection of creativity and commerce as entrepreneurs. It emphasizes the confident handling of both theoretical and practical tools. Through a blend of creative, technical, legislative, and financial knowledge, students learn how to transform design ideas into viable business ventures. The module encourages contextualization within a realistic business environment. Students identify potential for new products, services, or experiences and mobilize necessary resources to bring their ideas to life. They present their insights through a target market presentation and a professionally crafted business plan. Additionally, students analyze product offerings, devise marketing strategies, and explore the broader industrial context and competitive landscape relevant to their business ideas.

The learning outcomes for this module are listed below. By the time you complete this module, you will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate an entrepreneur's competency to address open-ended problems. (A3, PLO10)
  2. Form strategies in response to problems using effective planning and research (A2, PLO9)
  3. Present solutions to problems in a professional manner. (A2, PLO5)

Assessment Weightage

This module has an assessment, which is split into three parts. Please check the assignment brief link for detail assessment deliverables.

  3. Assessment 3 - Business Plan Presentation (10%)
