Recent changes in human resource management (HRM) are driven by six key challenges: the transition to emerging markets, the borderless workplace, new employment models resulting from specialization, changing work styles leadership and competition fierce for talent. Today's HR transformations often focus on cost savings instead of fostering agile, business-focused functions. The Predictions 2013 report suggests that companies can improve their human resources by developing integrated talent strategies, ensuring seamless global talent mobility, promoting global leadership, unifying practices in talent, encouraging job specialization, integrating talent acquisition with management, investing in HR technology and using analytics. Many of these strategies relate to global mobility, highlighting the need for companies to evaluate their global mobility programs.
