Topic 1: Bootstrapping Your Dreams

I think it's possible to start a business with no money, but it depends on the type of business. Some businesses need a lot of startup costs, like a restaurant or a clothing brand with inventory. But if you have a skill, you can start with almost nothing.

Some ideas I have for low-cost businesses:

  • Freelancing—If you can write, design, or do photography, you can offer services online.
  • Print-on-demand— You don’t need to buy stock; just design T-shirts or mugs and sell them online.
  • Reselling—Buy used items cheap and sell them for more on eBay or Facebook Marketplace.
  • Tutoring—Teach something you know, like music or language, through Zoom.

I think the hardest part is getting customers at the beginning. Does anyone have tips for finding clients without spending money on ads

That’s a great list! I’m also thinking of starting a small business but don’t have much money. I heard that networking is a good way to find customers—maybe joining Facebook groups or posting about your services on social media could help? Has anyone tried that?
