My Thoughts on SHRM:
I think academics and HR professionals have embraced Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM) because it truly supports business success. SHRM is not only about making HR look important—it actually helps align people with the company’s strategy.
It improves decision-making, employee performance, and long-term planning. While some may say it’s self-interest, I believe there is a strong business case behind SHRM. It adds value and shows how HR can contribute to real results.
That’s why I support the strategic approach.
