Globalisation has affected businesses of all sizes. In order to compete at global level, business organisations are required to revolutionise their HR role to be more agile and business driven. According to the article, HR plays the key role in bridging the gap between business strategy and the ability of global mobility (ie. increasing globalisation, skills gap, emerging market and competition). Talent acquisition seems to be the biggest challenge faced by MNCs with new emerging economies. Therefore it is imperative for HR to be equipped with the necessary skills to train local leaders in host countries who are well versed with local culture and are able to achieve organisational goals at the marketplace. Apart from acquiring, training and developing talents, HR should also be agile enough to take on changes and challenges faced in the marketplace.
