HRM evolves into a global context when a company expands being geographic boundaries and borders. If we look at Asian cultures, Asians have a collective mindset, where decisions are made with consideration to the collective whole. This is in contrast to American cultures which are very focused on the self.
A global HRM needs to be flexible enough to accommodate the local cultures to a reasonable extent yet enforce the culture of the company in a uniform manner.
Some features of a global HRM include
1. Regular training/retraining of the company culture at all subsidiaries.
2. A global leadership team that examplifies the company values.
3. A global HR team that know what can be adjusted to local conditions and what cultural norms must be enforced uniformly across the organization. This includes preparing new trainings and culture journeys for all employees to undergo regularly.
