The world is changing and in order for the business to be successful, HR needs to evolve and adept.

There are 4 reasons underpinning the evolution of HR functions and roles:-

1. Increasing globalisation:- Businesses are no longer confined to operating within a locality/ country. Workplace globalisation requires talents with specific skills to meet business objectives. It is important for HR to identify and build local leaders- who understand local culture- with global outlook.

2. Skills gap:- As the world is changing rapidly, finding the right employees with right skillsets is difficult. HR tasked with recruitments needs to have the experience and training required to address skills shortage issues that are happening worldwide.

3. Emerging market:- Growth in the emerging markets has resulted in companies to rely on global mobility to fuel expansion.

4. Competition:- Human capital assets are scarce resources. There maybe gaps in employees' skills between emerging countries and developed countries. To be successful at global scale, HR needs to focus on the big picture to close these gaps.
