Social and economic issues including globalization, technological improvements, shifting demographics, talent shortages, and a move towards strategic HRM have all contributed to the current transformation in human resource management (HRM). A stronger emphasis is now placed on managing a diverse and international workforce, utilizing technology to streamline procedures, addressing talent shortages, improving employee experience and engagement, and taking a more strategic approach to HRM that is in line with organizational objectives. These factors have had an impact on the evolution of HR functions and roles. This change is a reflection of how dynamic today's workplace is and how HRM must change with the times in order to promote company success.
