From a social and economic perspective, with the rise of globalisation and new emerging markets, companies are looking forward to gaining new recruits with the skills and values that match them. Thus, HR begins to shift to accommodate the company's demands to become globally mobile. This can be seen as more companies are increasingly seeking to involve HR in key business planning decisions and the development of strategies. There is also increased competition between MNEs and their race to get the most market share.
The current HR job desk and a decade ago would be very different. The recent growth in technology caused by globalisation has pushed HR in evolving to have varying roles, that can support their company in achieving global mobility. The HR department has the responsibility to agree on strategic purposes of global mobility, understand the value propositions of global deployment, and using recent technologies such as mobility data analytics to make correct decisions free of bias.
