Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM) aligns HR practices with an organization’s strategic goals, improving performance and competitiveness. This has led to its adoption by academics and HR practitioners. SHRM facilitates talent management, promotes a positive work environment, and enhances productivity. It results in improved employee engagement, competitive advantage, and organizational performance. However, some may embrace SHRM for self-interest, as it provides research opportunities for academics and elevates the HR function’s status. Despite this, the benefits of SHRM to organizations are significant, making its adoption beneficial for both the organization and HR professionals. Successful SHRM implementation requires understanding the organization and its environment, and a commitment to continuous learning and adaptation.
