while there is a strong case for embracing  the strategic approach to HRM, it can also be said that academics embraced the approach our of self interest and out of desire for recognition in field on business and inside organizations.

The role SHRM plays in organization make a strong business case for it. The role that SHRM plays to ensure that HR practices support the strategic business goals, to attain the right talented people who are able to implement the business strategy, and build the organizational culture that help fostering the business strategy.

on the other hand, the adoption of SHRM contributed to the elevation of HR professionals, and contributed to their career advancement, and has provided academics with a new filed of research and study.

in conclusion, there is a strong argument that SHRM makes a strong business case with the role it palys and which mentioned above, and this role outweighs any argument that might say that SHRM is there just as a result of self interest of HR academics.

Your opinion effectively captures the dual motivations for embracing SHRM, recognizing both the genuine business value and the potential for self-interest among HR professionals and academics.
