HR professionals embraced SHRM:

- to align with organisation goal. By integrating HR strategies with overall organisation strategy, SHRM aims to ensure that HR activities contribute to the achievement of organisation goals.

- to increase human capital for long term advantage. SHRM recognises the importance of human capital as a valuable resource for organisations and emphasises on attracting, developing, and retaining talent

I think its both. Aligning personal interest with organisation success is possible. For example, when individuals see value in adopting strategic HRM practices, they are more likely to advocate for their implementation and invest in the necessary resources. Meanwhile, strategic approach to HRM offers a strong business case, supported by evidence of improved organisational performance, competitive advantage, effective workforce planning, and alignment with the changing business environment.
