With SHRM, this would align the company's objective with human resource management. The ability to plan out and direct people entering and existing within the company or any other institution as everyone plays each role but with one common goal. When a goal has been set, it would be easier to create programs and strategies to centralize that goal. The methods be as simple as a company introduction, aligning and directing the new recruits on what they should help achieve during their stay at the company. Further on, there would be training, management, incentives and so on to boost the employee's morale and determination to improve the company along with themselves. As a result, academics and HR professionals embraced SHRM.
If the academics and HR professionals embraced SHRM out of self-interest, then it can be said that they are working for their own benefit or satisfaction. It may be a driving factor to create better strategies to further improve the company, but it may not be entirely true on how it is acted out of self-interest. In the end, having a more specialized department in handling strategies improves not only one person but also the entire company. Training and development can be generalized from simple things such as a grooming class to look presentable and professional to more complex stuff such as how to succeed in a new market.
