Based on the lesson, it was mentioned that a report from conference board of Canada indicated that survey of 155 senior-level HR executives found that 63% of the respondents felt that HR was never, rarely or only sometimes been a major part of their companies' overall strategy. However, the remaining 37% did feel that HR played a significant role in their companies' strategic planning. There is a strong correlation between HR being always linked to the strategic process of a company and this helps the employees to know where the company is going.

From a constituency-based perspective, it is being argued that HR academics and HR practitioners have embraced SHRM. This is because SHRM aligns strategic HR framework with HR practices to achieve critical capabilities for the company. This is very important for the growth of a company. The SHRM 

  1. Analyze opportunities and threats of the company in the external environment
  2. Form strategies that will be convenient for its internal strengths and weaknesses with external threats and opportunities
  3. Implement these strategies
  4. Evaluate and control activities to make sure that the company's objectives are being fulfilled.
